Been awake since 4am, gave up trying to sleep at 5.15 and have been working since 5.30am following the short commute to my study via the kitchen to make tea and feed the dogs. I have a lot of ground to cover today. First, I have a really complex hearing on the costs consequences of a High Court trial concerning the non-payment of contractual bonuses by a company engaged in demolition of buildings and the dumping of demolition waste. The trial took place in March in London, but today I shall find myself in Reading Crown Court where the judge is now sitting trying crime. Once that is done, I have to travel to Huntingdon to start a three day Employment Tribunal concerning the management of aggressive and violent patients in a secure mental health unit. No one can say my work is not varied ;-)
