Been living this for years now. When I graduated from college in 2009 my professors were apologizing to our classes because journalists were being laid off all over the place. So, I decided to keep freelancing. A few weeks later the EPA released its list of high-hazard coal ash ponds, and though Ive covered many different types of stories, I kept going back to that one because it seems so important. So, the upside of living la vida loca is Ive been able to focus on something important. The downside is that its the hard, harder, hardest road and theres no telling where it will lead. An offshoot to the downside is that folks in my family dont understand the new economy. But, we all have to do what we have to do ... right?
