Been out of pocket a few days. Drove back home to the coast today. And passing through Port Lavaca at 1230 PM I saw a flock of large white cranes, over a dozen flying WSE at about 300 feet ... the whitest of white feathers you have ever seen, and black tipped wings. Talking with TPW biologist Mark Klym, we think these to be Whooping Cranes, my first sighting. Part of why I moved to the Golden Crescent.
