Been reading up on an intriguing personality who made a major philosophical contribution to the development of republican politics and was probably ahead of his time, revolutionary socialist and Irish republican Thomas Ta Power. Fascinating. We must be able to get it across that a new independent Ireland is only possible through a revolutionary change in the ownership of the wealth and resources, that it must be rebuilt on a totally new basis: that it means expropriating the capitalists, allied to imperialism, of their control and ownership of the means of production, etc, of organising our economy to produce not for the profit of the capitalist class but for the needs of the Irish people, of promoting values by which we can build a new life on a truly human basis. Exceptional insight into the true problems facing Ireland and something that is definitely digging in the right direction. Sovereignty over territory is practically worthless without a corresponding control of the money supply and central banking system... Wouldnt agree with his analysis entire but some very interesting opinions and points which could be of use to any developing analysis of partition in the 21st century
