Been thinking lots about human perception of time and how it - TopicsExpress

Been thinking lots about human perception of time and how it colours and shapes our understanding of reality. Some things, like the life of an ant, can seem brief to us, while others, like the age of the Earth, are incomprehensibly long. All of this, of course, is completely subjective, as the only unit of measurement we really have is the perceived length of our own lives. That ants lifespan may feel like an eternity to the ant, while our planets existence may be a momentary, insignificant event from the Universes perspective. Well never know. In a video I watched recently, Jason Silva talks about how humans may eventually transcend into a virtual reality, leaving our bodies and other constraints behind. He said that once that happens we will be able to jump straight to the end of time and meet other civilizations who had done the same before us. Well be able to do this because the concept of time moving fast or slow will no longer apply. There will be no purpose in measuring time, no reason to experience waiting or delay, no limits to our reality. Any and every point in time will be Now. I cant really comprehend this possible future, nor was my brain built for the task. But I wouldnt mind living long enough to find out if its true. Hopefully, Ive got time.
