Been watching Binneland to learn Afrikaans and it is surprisingly close to English. In two months of watching Ive learned more Afrikaans than the Arabic Ive learned from two formal classes. But thats just because its very close to English. Arabic is difficult because its so different from English. Im guessing if my mother tongue were a Semitic language, Arabic would be easy and Afrikaans not so much.
