Been wondering about this for a while...what do folks think of Facebook sponsored ads, page ads, post boosts etc? While I am interested in whether or not to they really work (I experimented with an ad for a carefully selected show on my Scottish tour earlier in the year and to be honest dont think it really made any difference..an event is not a page, though and maybe Im not comparing apples with apples). Anyway the main thing I am curious about is how folks perceive musicians (like myself) using paid ads/boosts etc...my feeling is folks dont like it and Ive even heard of people unliking and defriending folks because theyve taken an ad or promotion. Is this the case? If so, I wonder why big, expensive ads in music magazines dont create a negative perception? Anyone any thoughts? Im not so much thinking about giving Facebook any cash...just curious!
