Before Christmas we talked about the guy who was preparing to propose to his girlfriend, he was flying the brother in from overseas for a surprise and the mother told them on skype not to get engaged because they needed more time to establish their careers. Heres the followup...apparently everyone was thrilled when the brother came in. He had the ring all wrapped up, she was quite surprised and happy and said yes! And then it all went downhill. The next day the mother told him he was out of line to fly the brother in, she wasnt able to make his favorite pastry like she always does when he comes home and she felt like a fool. She made the brother apologize for coming home unannounced and helping. The girl then apologized for his actions and proposing against her wishes and gave her mother the ring to hold on to until they can all rebuild family trust. So i guess theyre engaged to be engaged??!! As much as he loves her, hes now having second thoughts if he can make it work the family. Is that a valid reason to bail? What should he do?
