Before December of last year, I had never created a video in my entire life. I was the one sitting around watching people on YouTube do all the amazing things I wanted to be doing. I decided to start writing, taking pictures, and making videos on Jack Reynolds as an outlet, named affectionately after my more fearless alter-ego. In the past 10 months, I went from having not the slightest clue of what I was getting into, to taking off on the first flight of a 14+ city (literal) adventure of a lifetime with my friend Nic Davis for one of the biggest and most amazing companies in the world (Daimlers car2go). The most bold Chief Marketing Officer Ive ever seen, Paul Delong, gave us a shot to make a video for them without having ever met us in person. Our mission was to have as much fun as we possibly could, see everything we could, and do whatever we wanted in every moment. We had absolutely no plan and no time to prepare before we left. Nic and I hadnt even seen each other in person for weeks until we were on the flight out. We ended up skydiving, ocean kayaking, bobsledding with an olympic pilot, parasailing in Key West, skim boarding, jet-skiing, horseback riding, dragon boat racing, crashing Segways, four helicopter adventures, cave tours, roller coasters, waterparks, and an insanely long list of other amazing things. For every single adventure, we cold-called the companies no more than hours in advance, pleaded our case that we would credit them in our video in exchange for their time and service. Everyone wanted to help. We met amazing people everywhere. People that wanted to help us accomplish our goal. People that wanted to see us succeed. We traveled over 10,000 miles by planes, cars, boats, trains, and helicopters to capture almost 3 terabytes of footage in 14+ cities in 6 weeks. Nic spent tons of dozens of hours editing what would be our final piece for them. A two minute and thirty-seven second YouTube video. A video that Im sharing with you to prove that anything is possible. Please share this with someone you believe in.
