Before I ask my question. I want to let you know I have read the pinned posts, and frequently watch Freelees video and have her ebooks. Please no banning me. I just want to understand the logic. My question that has been bothering me is this. Why would someone like me who is 57 weighing at 230, lightly active have my resting metabolic rate going at 2250 calories approx, should be eating 2500+ calories in carbohydrates when I am trying to lose weight? Yes weight is not the main factor, but is a secondary factor to wanting to be healthy. I just dont understand how eating more than what your body needs to lose weight. Im not trying to promote caloric deprivation here, I am just trying to make sense of the science behind this. Excess carbs in either forms good or bad cause weight gain for someone who is hardly active. I have strictly followed the rt4 for several months and have expericenced heavy weight gain, with no history of an ed, or caloric deprivation. Ive used to be very active that I would eat past my resting levels, and still lost weight. Where as when I eat until I am full, and calories are under the resting levels (unintentionally) I lose weight. It just doesnt make sense to me. Especially when you are not active. If I was a runner or avid active person then it would make sense to eat excess carbs and calories to maintain energy. Please help me understand this. Thank you.
