Before I even traveled to Sydney, I had to sit through staff tell me about avoiding dangerous situations, protests etc. I always brushed those off as not really applying to Sydney. The events today were tragic, and I pray for the victims and their loved ones, and I hope they can recover both physically and mentally. That said, today could have been much worse. Sydney is still a very safe place to live. Importantly, this was due to the actions of an individual, (who had a disturbing criminal record) and the Muslim community does not deserve to suffer because of this event. I have walked by the Lindt Cafe and I would do it again. Sydney, go about your lives as normal. Do not live in fear.
