Before I start cooking in earnest (we have supper, rather than lunch on Thanksgiving), I thought Id start a thread about favorite funny Thanksgiving memories. Ill go first. One year we gathered at my nieces house and my brother offered to bring the sweet potatoes. He fixed a HUGE bowl of curried sweet potatoes. Yes, curried. Everyone put a big ol mound of sweet potatoes on their plate as they went through the serve yourself buffet line (who could resist?). When the meal was over, I looked around the table and everyones plate was empty...except for a big ol mound of sweet potatoes. Everyone started ribbing him about the potatoes and perhaps we overdid it (but they were HORRIBLE), until he seemed to get a little miffed and he announced, WELL! I wont fix my sweet potatoes for yall ever again!!! This threat was met with clapping and cheers. :-D
