Before bistros and delis became hip, there was a small deli tucked at the corner of a shopping center where the average age of the operators was above 55. There werent any fancy names on their menu; just good old-fashioned items like roast beef sandwich, beef pot pie, cheese French fries and chocolate brownies. I just realised this was my one of my regular hangouts during my army days, and a place where hearty Western sandwiches and snacks were still being served. Steeples Deli, Tanglin Halt Shopping Center.
