Before christian missionaries went to Nigeria, the yuroba people - TopicsExpress

Before christian missionaries went to Nigeria, the yuroba people refered to their idols as chineke in their shrines. Today they still use the same title for God almighty both christians and muslims. That word chineke is just a languistic term for God and was not invented by any religio. The same thing refers to the word Allah(God) before the advent of Islam idolators used it to name their idols because they believed that was their God. Today the term Allah is used in both the Quran and the bible in the Arab world to depict God. The same way the english word God was borrowed from the pagan german deity of worship (got). Today it is used by christians to refer to their supreme deity. The same thing applies to the word amen used by christians today which was an ancient egyptian pagan god. Today it is used by christians to represent jesus. I laugh when i hear christians refer to Allah as a pagan God. Meanwhile, they use the same name for their god in the arabic bible. Whom are you deceiving? If you dont like it, throw it out of the bible and see whether youll be able to find another arabic term for God almighty. All languages for God have pagan origins. God didnt chose for what he should be called you can choose to call him by any name provided its a beautiful name.
