Before starting to see what you all have shared, Im sitting here reflecting on the verse that says it rains on the just and unjust. Just thinking that a verse is missing. It snows, freezing rain, and arctic cold comes to the just and unjust. The low forecast was zero. My equipment is pretty good, a didgital sensor, and just below it, the oldfashioned mercury thermometer. Rarely varies more than a degree. At 5AM, when I got moving, it was 4 below zero. At 6AM, 6 below zero, at 7AM, 7 below, at 8AM, moving up to 6 below, and the rise continued and after 9AM acellerated. All the weather reports on radio and TV during this time were reporting above zero, with all their expensive equipment. My stuff is sheltered from false readings because of the sun. The sun doesnt even touch it in the summer. Now, the forecast for the past weekend was that we were going to be hit, beginning Saturday night with snow, into Sunday: 4-7 inches, and being me, I like to deal with it before it piles up. So, I got up around midnight and broomed the roughly 1 inch. Around 5AM, got up and broomed another inch and while I did it quit snowing. Havent seen a flake and it now is 8PM Monday. On the high side of day, I believe the high was forecast as 17 above, my instrument tells me the high and low of the day, high 24, the sun shone brightly and melted a lot of ice, praise God. It (the sun) is getting higher in the sky and I know spring is coming!! I rant about the(in my mind, the overpaid stars of meteroligists) and I remember working with my Dad in the family trash removal business. I was riding on back of a rear loader truck, 20 degrees below, 50 degrees wind chill factor. I could only stay out for a few stops and had to get in the truck to warm up. That was back in the day when a lot of people dealt with their trash in a 55 gallon drum and we would take a wash tub, fill it, wade through knee deep snow to empty it onto the truck. Sometimes it could take 2 or 3 trips. What is the point in expressing this memory? I would suggest the point is that we all are experiencing a diffucllt winter, and each of us have our own experiences with it. That is physical testing and inquirey. I would like to segue into the spiritual. I am 68 years passing, nearing the three score and seven, in spite of myself, that is Grace! Praise be to the Lord Jesus Christ!! I thought when I went to the spiritual, I might began a discourse of my understanding of the spiritual. But I am tired, and all I am asking is for intense prayer for my sister Janice. Lots of pain. Low faith, expressed wish to die. When certain people visit she perks up. I cannot give up hope in the power of God to heal. There are spiritual issues, but in her mind right now are physical pain, in addition, I am sure mental and spiritual regrets, she is still pretty coherent, though emotional. It is out my hands and into the hands of the Amighty! Pray for her primarily, but for my neice Jennifer, my brother Jon, and lastly for me to use wisdom in difficult circomstances.
