Before you could record your own demo tape, you could record your own 78 with the Wilcox-Gay Recordio. Here is an unknown artist named Paul recording a version of a Hank Williams song, circa 1950. Six of this guys recordings are on E-bay right now, starting at 15 dollars for the whole collection, is my impression. Probably wont go there, but it would be interesting to write a story based on these recordings I thought. Perhaps a good idea for a film, or just someone who appreciates music in this kind of context, so I thought I would share this. I have a couple of recordio discs of someone recording the Aristo-Cats jazz group, but most likely off the radio. The recorders came with an AM radio. The vinyl is pressed onto a metal disc and some of it is flaking off of them, so you definitely need to keep these away from extreme temperatures and moisture.
