Behind all broad minded liberalism of the secular west lurks the unavoidable awareness that Muhammad peace be upon him is the man who in the 7th century changed the course of the history of mankind, and whose Message triggered and galvanized a movement that pushed christianity beyond the Mediterranean forever. Of course Christians do dwell in the areas on this side of the Mediterranean too, but in terms history and political realities the region that once was Roman Empire (or Persian Empire) is the region of Muhammad pbuh now. Surely the power of the Crescent has been in decline for the past few centuries, but that has not helped the mind of the West to get less obsessed with the West of the Cross. Granted that the age of Enlightenment pushed the West towards a divorce between the State and Christianity, the fact remains that in 1967 when Jerusalem fell into the hands of Israel, and Salahuddin Ayubis triumph over Christianity was undone, there were unprecedented celebrations in the Capital of the West. We are all prisoners to history. The West still thrives on anti-Christ theme, and Islam still owes allegiance to Muhammad pbuh. Today the Crescent is down and the Cross has overwhelming ascendance but there has been a huge surge of awareness in the world of Crescent since Israels occupation of al Quds. This surge has infused a visible passion to rise from the ashes, and tell the world We will overcome. The West infact unconsciously helping the re-emergence of the Islamic Will, by closing its eyes to the consequences of the incidents like the lampooning of our Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) by the vagabonds of Chalie Hebdo. I am one of those dreamers who believe that tomorrow belongs to Islam. And there are millions and millions of dreamers like me in the World of Crescent. So, my message to the West is, thank you for waking us up. Once we get out of the slumber, your anti Muslim madness would one day prove you to be wrong. Thnx Zahid Iqbal Bajwa
