“Behold, I am going to send My messenger, and he will clear the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple; and the messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight, behold, He is coming,” says the LORD of hosts. But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner’s fire and like fullers’ soap.” – Malachi 3:1-3 This chapter seems to start with a direct answer to the demand of the scoffers from the proceeding chapter: Where is the God of judgment? The answer? “The God of justice is on His way! But, He isnt coming to bless, rather He is coming to judge! He will send His messenger before He comes. John the Baptist was God’s messenger—to call men to repentance and reformation. When we refuse to purify ourselves, God must act for us. It is not pleasant to be placed over what Malachi calls the “refiner’s fire” (v. 2). The fire that removes impurities burns while it cleanses. Jesus is coming again just as was prophesied. The question remains “Who can stand before the Lord when He comes?” The answer, those who are fit, prepared, suitable. Are you fit? If not, purify yourself so that God doesnt have to do it for you! #advent #christmas #purifyyourself #godofjudgment #preceptministries
