Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology is Recruiting 30 International Students for Its Modelling & Brand Promotion Programme (Siman Programme) Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology (BIFT) is China’s premiere educational facility associated with fashion, specializing in the integration of art and technology, economics, management, and other convergent disciplines can successfully interact. The defining characteristic of our fashion school is that we a fulltime higher education institution. Founded in 1959, the Institute was first affiliated with the Ministry of Textiles. In 1998 it evolved into a supervisory institution governed by the City of Beijing. The institute, which has 7000 students and 700 academic staff, is now made up of five schools (School of Clothing Art and Business, School of Art and Design, School of Materials Science and Engineering, School of Business and School of Information Engineering); two departments (Foreign Language Department and the Department of Plastic Arts); two teaching divisions (Division of Social Science and Division of Basic Courses); an educational centre (Centre for Computer Science Teaching); an international collage; a school of Continuing Education; a department of higher Vocational Education and a Graduate School. Since 1997, School of International Education of BIFT has been providing bachelor degree programs in fashion design, modeling, visual communication, environmental design, international trade and Chinese language training courses for thousands of foreign students from Japan, Korea, the US, the UK, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Russia, Denmark, Argentina, Azerbaijan, Mongolia, Indonesia, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Ghana, Ukraine, Ethiopia, Chile, etc. Up to the end of the year 2014, students on campus from foreign countries and areas of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan reach 381, and the major of fashion design has become an independent unit. . About Modelling & Brand Promotion Programme (Siman Programme) This programme is set up to meet the soaring needs of Chinese fashion performance market, aiming to offer the students a comprehensive professional knowledge and to train the students as professionals in dress performance, choreographer, planning, image design, display design, fashion design and fashion marketing. 1. Program Aims & Objectives With the development of Cultural and Creative Industry and fashion trend, Fashion Performing Talents graduated from BIFT are expected to become high-level specialists who are equipped with both artistic cultural and basic apparel theoretical knowledge. Besides, they are also supposed to be able to perform such work as fashion performance, fashion collection directing, model agency management, model education, image design and fashion marketing and promotion at the end of the program. 2．Courses Fashion Performance, Fashion Collection Cirecting, Cultural Broker Managerment, Gymnasics, Dancing, Music Art, Modelling Psychology, Cosmetics, Fashion Brand Case Analysis, Fashion Communications Media, and Fashion Display Design etc. 3．Internship and Research Training Fashion Performance Internship, Fashion Collection Directing Internship, Apparel Technology and Manufacturing Internship, Graduation Design Project，etc. 4. Duration and future career The programme lasts for 4 years plus a half-year pre-school language and physical training run by the university. After the half-year training, all the students will obtain the right of study as a bachelor degree student. They will also get a contract with Beijing Siman International Modeling and Media Co.,Ltd (Siman). The students performance activities organised by Siman will be paid as well as counted as studying credits. The students will get their bachelor’s degree from Ministry of Education of the Peoples Republic of China and have a permanent work contract with Siman or other professional agencies after they complete all the studying unites. Tuition fee and scholarship: tuition,.24720 yuan per year. All the recruits will be granted The Chinese Government Scholarship For Foreign Students or The Beijing Government Scholarship For Foreign Students. The scholarships will cover most of the Tuition fee. Requirements for Applicants: 1. Applicants should be willing to abide the Chinese laws, regulations and school discipline and to respect the habits and customs of Chinese people. 2. Applicants should have graduated or will graduate before July 2015 from ordinary high schools, secondary specialized schools or equivalent educational agencies. Exceptions can be made for outstanding applicants. 3. This programme is opened only for female applicants. 4. Applicants must be in excellent health condition.
