Being Liberal Logic is by far one of my favorite pages on facebook. Why, I have no idea. But this meme especially makes me laugh. The dude(s) complains about how we never had a free market, yet credits the free market for our technological advancements. Computers are not an invention of the free market. Computer scientists, engineers, programmers, they all do what they do because they enjoy it. Many of the most beneficial discoveries of our time were an accident. You cannot credit profit driven capitalists with the advancement of humanity. More focus may have been given to other areas for the sake of profit, but many of our greatest inventions only exist thanks to people who just enjoy what they did. Very little is the direct result of capitalism or a free market. I look at it kind of like comparing Pink Floyd and Justin Bieber. Pink Floyd writes amazing music because they enjoy playing music, whereas Justin Bieber shits out one bad song after the next because they sell. Thats how profit driven incentives work.
