Being Thankful for what we have. Scotty, This post is for you … (I took the liberty to write it from what I feel is your point of view) It’s that time of year again. A time to spend with Family and Friends …. But sometimes being Thankful can be difficult …. This Thanksgiving will be different. The whole being thankful part .. really has set heavy on my heart. Truly I’ve been Blessed over these past few years but I can’t help And wonder ….. Why should I be thankful that my Dad and Best Friend Hank cant celebrate with us? Why should I be thankful that my Mom and Mentor Sis cant celebrate with us? Why should I be thankful that my heart is filled with little spots of emptiness of Jill, The Bowzer & Magilla ? Why should I be thankful? I should be thankful I have those memories and special times we did have together …. And now I can be thankful for my spouse and soul mate Missy, for Daulton, for Hawk, Ladybug and Harley … for a life filled with new family, new friends and new adventures …. For the blessing’s that still remain ahead … I am Thankful. In looking for something positive to say about thanksgiving I came across a verse of scripture …. Which says: Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is Gods will for you in Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 So that reminds me that we need to rejoice in all things and give thanks in all situations. So why not just do it. Maybe it does kind of suck spending thanksgiving away from home and the surrounding’s filled with those special times of Thanksgiving past …. It hurts that I cant share the holiday with my Dad or my Mom anymore. But, Im thankful for the years we did get to spend together, the memories that were created, and the love that was shared…and, Im thankful in the fact that I still have a family that loves me, friends that cheer me on and a lifetime of good times that remain before me. Giving thanks is so simple, yet so crucial. I could go on and on about all of the earthly things Im thankful for and why. But, the important thing is.. we give thanks for the moments we get to share today, tomorrow will take care of itself. Do Not Judge --- Accept. Do Not criticize --- Enjoy the difference. Do Not Hold Back --- Be Yourself. Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever. Psalm 107:1 Life is what it is .... Enjoy The Ride.
