Being a Republican in the inner-city has its challenges. But at the end of the day it is not as big a challenge as so many think it to be. Many people are politically prejudiced, but for the most part, people of whatever color and whatever party will give you a chance, if youre willing to get to know them. I like Rand Paul because hes willing to get to know people. Hes willing to understand people whose experiences are radically different from his own. And he does so upon a foundation of principles that are deeply American. Hes a patriot. But rarely does his patriotism devolve into the braggadocio that characterizes some Republican rhetoric. In that hes like his father. I dont categorize myself as a strict Libertarian, and I shy away from labels generally. I dont know yet whether Ill vote for Rand Paul if he runs.
