Being a rarity here (foreigners make up less than 2/10ths of 1% of the population here), people OFTEN want to make friends with you. No matter how long I have lived her, or how long I may stay, random strangers asking Can I be your friend, will never cease to creep me out. And this isnt limited to people on the street, its more often than not through phone calls/text messages from people who have asked around for my phone number. And while it might be SOMEWHAT interesting when its a female, its lock the door, call the cops, move out of town, superglue my butt cheeks freaky, when its a guy. Seriously - Imagine after a long day at work, you sit down with a nice cup of coffee and turn on some relaxing music, only to have your phone ring and the unknown voice on the other end says... Can I be your friend? *shiver*
