Being in university we have the chance to experience and explore our knacks in a safe environment surrounded by wonderful people. We need to reach out and take full advantage of this great opportunity, take our knacks out of our personal space and introduce them into practice. Tom Wujec gave a Ted talk on ‘the marshmallow challenge’. A challenge that encourages creative and innovative thinking driven by cohesion amongst teams. Most importantly it brings out the importance of ‘failing to succeed’, i.e. prototyping. ´The challenge provides a shared experience, a common language, a common stance to build the right prototype. And so, this is the value of the experience, of this so simple exercise.’ University is our chance to prototype and learn about ourselves and where we fit in our communities.
