Being involved in freerotation has taught me the meaning of family, friendship and community. We live in a world which is dominated by the self-centredness and greed of capitalism and the blind assumption that consumption and growth are somehow honourable, when really they set us on a direct course to the destruction of our planet and of the bonds which hold us together. Everyone involved in freerotation, the party heads, crew, artists, and all at Baskerville, have given incredible love, energy and support to make it what it is. Ive learnt that through sharing, supporting, creativity and positivity, and with so many individuals giving so much of themselves to make people happy, we all come out feeling empowered and inspired. I believe the change we yearn for will happen naturally, with beauty and diversity, like the wild flowers which grow over a barren wasteland. By doing things ourselves, making, growing, sharing, supporting, and co-operating, we can reclaim those bonds because all life on earth is related, we are all one family. We can bring about change on many levels: by finding peace within ourselves, seeing the magic in every moment, and choosing very carefully who and what we are supporting every time we buy something. By sharing information, supporting legal and political movements which bring about greater rights for humans, animals and the planets ecosystems, being pro-active about issues which concern us, and taking it upon ourselves to live the life we dream of, with respect and compassion, together, we can share the happiness we have experienced together.
