Being the citizen of India it is the duty of every Indian to follow income tax rules failing which one may have to pay interest and penalty on late filing of I.T.R. or on deposit of tax at due time. Filing of I.T.R. though not a very difficult task but one has to be very carefully so that every type of income is considered while filing I.T.R. There may be some confusion about much type of earning and deductions allowable under income tax. It is very difficult for a common man to understand all these technicalities due to which there may be errors in filing of I.T.R., so to avoid these errors and to get the full benefit of deductions and exemptions allowable under income tax act, one should file his I.T.R. through a person expert in this field. Sometimes, some people mistakenly understand that ones the T.D.S. is deducted on the income there is no further liability at their end but this is wrong because T.D.S. is just to stop the avoidance of tax by the income earner and is deducted at a standard rate. If T.D.S. has been deducted, that does not mean that there is no liability of deductee to file the I.T.R. Deductee has to file the I.T.R. in respect of all his other incomes along with the income on which tax has been deducted. It may be possible that if there is no other income of the deductee he may get refund of T.D.S.
