Believe it or not, tens of thousands of bears are confined in tiny cages, unable to move for years — all so bile can be extracted from their gall bladders and sold for use in traditional medicine and consumer products like shampoo. The inhumane extraction methods cause the bears severe pain and trauma. It’s time to set them free. Help the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) stop the suffering of bears around the world. Please make a gift now. WSPA has already led the way in ending the horror of bear “dancing” in India, in which the bears were not dancing but actually squirming in pain. Also, as a result of our efforts, bear baiting events at fairs in Pakistan dropped from 49 percent in 2008 to three percent in 2012. With your support, we can stop the agony of bear bile extraction too. By working with world leaders and educating consumers to reduce demand for bear bile products, we can put a stop to the bear bile industry. Please send your gift today. We’ll use it immediately to end pain and torment for bears and to protect other animals around the world. Sincerely, Anne Lieberman Executive Director, WSPA USA We are not banking on hope to end bear cruelty. We know we can do it with your help. When you make a gift to WSPA today, You help us protect animals all over the world. give now P.S. WSPA is fighting to end the bear bile industry by working with practitioners and consumers of traditional medicine to promote synthetic and herbal alternatives. We know we can do it with your help — our victories against bear dancing and bear baiting show our efforts are working. Your gift today supports programs that are making a real difference in the lives of animals.
