Believe it or not, the temperature outside this morning is 24.9ºC! A hot dusty south-westerly wind -- a sirocco, (Catalan: Xaloc, Greek: Σορόκος, Spanish: Siroco) -- is blowing a regular hooligan all the way from the Sahara. The sirocco can reach hurricane force. It’s warmer outside than it is indoors. We are so high up they should call this place “Withering Heights”, though it ’baint ’alf as cowd’.
