Believe it or not, this is film taken at Raul Castro s wedding reception (per my mothers notes from 15+ years ago.) This would likely have been in Santiago de Cuba. Per Wikipedia, Raul would have been about 27 years old at the time of his wedding. Also, it indicates the wedding was in April, 1959. We left the base permanently near the end of April, 1959, went to NY state for a visit ( visible at end of film here) before moving to the Canal Zone. Im quite certain my dad did not go to this reception. My mother probably got permission for one final visit to Cuba after having lived in both Santiago and the base, mostly, since 1937 or so. I have been completely oblivious to this event until today while going through these films.
