Belindas Bid Leap For Diabetes BELINDA Jennings is jumping out of a plane at 10,000 ft to raise awareness for diabetes “I turned 40 and decided, come on girl you need to do some awesome things and make the most out of life,” Mrs Jennings says. She says her family history puts her at a higher risk of getting diabetes. “Diabetes is something that is widespread so the jump is also a way to raise awareness.” The owner of Mum Central at Daw Park has called on family, friends and colleagues to donate $1250 between them to ensure she qualifies for the jump. Adam Szuster of Coromandel Valley will join Mrs Jennings as he wants to put a stop to children having to live with the disease. “I’m a bit nervous about actually jumping out of the plane, but I’m doing it to make life a little bit easier for those kids who have diabetes.” And Adam raised over $1,500 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The team takes the plunge on Saturday, March 22. Another fundraiser will be held at Hoyts Norwood, 185 The Parade, Norwood, on Saturday, March 29.
