Bell County will be hosting its 5th annual Adoption Day event on Thursday, November 14, 2013, in the Courtrooms for the 146th and 169th District Courts. Opening remarks are slated to being at 9:15 a.m. in Judge Jones Courtroom, and it is expected that the first cases will be called at 9:30 a.m. As in past years, the Bar Association has solicited donations from various businesses around town to make this a special day for these children and families. Decorations and food items are being donated, including with jewelry for each child being adopted, balloons to decorate the Courtrooms and signage. The Bar Association also provides gifts for the children as well as the adopting families, including a magical Wizard of Oz pop up book. The Bell County Bar Association is currently looking to provide gifts to 14 families who are adopting a total of 27 children. If you or your firm would like to help offset these costs, you can send a check, payable to BCBA, to PO Box 282, Belton, TX 76513. Please note Adoption Day donation on the memo portion of your check so that the funds are appropriately applied. All donors will be recognized on the thank you wall outside the Courtroom, as well as in the news print ads published in both the Temple Daily Telegram and the Killeen Daily Herald.
