On the daily, she worked towards making the best humans possible, in a way that she knew how. Which were Nathan, Amy and I. She did so with love, compassion and the idea that she wanted a better life for us. Indirectly, she taught us empathy, confidence, loyalty and the will to move forward despite set.backs. The idea that no matter what was on the outside, it was your character that mattered, and how human you were at the end of the day. And for that, I am grateful. People often ask me what my mother was like. I tend to reply with the same series of words, with great confidence.
