Dear Ms. Mori: I lack adequate words to express my gratitude for our new home on Halladay Street. Your work changes lives. At my age I had given up hope of owning a home. How would I be able to afford my own when I was struggling to pay a $1,300 rent. In December I went to a dinner party at a friend’s home on Van Nostrand Avenue and was so impressed with her home. It was spacious and impeccably made. I knew she made about the same income as me so I was curious how she made it happen. She handed me a postcard that allowed me to dream again of home ownership. A few days later I emailed Matt and he got right back to me. Your team is amazing! They answered calls, emails and all of my questions (and boy did I have questions!) They helped me every step of the way. Even when I went through a hiccup with the bank and called at the brink of hysteria John did not let me give up. He calmly said “Eneida these things happen. Sit still for a minute and we will work it out. We are in the habit of fulfilling dreams not taking them away”. Because of your vision my children have a home that they are proud of and love being in. Because of your work I can plan barbeques with friends and family and even be able to go on vacation. Because of your work I can sit in my backyard and sip my morning coffee and watch my dog run around. One of the best parts of this is that I can pay it forward and offer a beautiful apartment to another family at a decent and affordable price. All of these things make me so happy. Although I have never met you I will forever be grateful to you, Matt, John and Ricardo. May God bless you all with as much happiness as you have brought into my life.
