Below is the motion that Mayor Neoh is putting up on Monday. WHY? Neoh, Ermacora and Gaston were quite happy to vote in the notification of the special rate on May 19. We have been talking to them until we are blue in the face about the seriously flawed (some might say, non-existent) consultation process that was conducted before they voted. Not one of them listened. But the minute Commerce Warrnambool asks for this to be dragged out even longer so they can try to convince everyone this is a great idea, Neoh doesnt even hesitate. Who is controlling who here? What is the real agenda? In all of our discussions, Mayor Neoh claimed to be an independent mediator between WTAG & Commerce Warrnambool. This motion can only lead us to believe that he was anything but independent. The intelligent people of Warrnambool see straight through you. MICHAEL NEOH Notice is given that at the Ordinary Meeting of Council to be held on Monday 21 July 2014, I propose to move:- “That Council defer implementation of the resolution carried on 19 May 2014 of its intention to declare a Special Rate under Section 163 of the Local Government Act until 30 September 2014 to provide Commerce Warrnambool with an opportunity to further engage with the Warrnambool business community.”
