Benefit for Jeff Barnett August 3 There will be a benefit for Jeff Barnett of Summerfield on Saturday, August 3 at the Caldwell Eagles #2952. The event begins at noon. Jeff was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer in April, has been hospitalized five times and is currently undergoing chemo. There will be an auction with Kenny Turchik at 2 p.m. with a little help from Bill Rucker. There will be a cornhole tournament with sign-up at 1 p.m. Play begins at 2 p.m. There will be a horseshoe tourney with sign-up at 1 p.m., play beginning at 2 p.m. The band Exit 25 will play from 5 to 8 p.m. There will be a 50/50 drawing. Food: 1/2 chicken $4; whole chicken $8; ham or 1/2 chicken with two sides, roll and butter $8; sandwiches; bake sale; country store.
