Benni’s Achievements This morning it was announced that South Africa’s most successful player overseas, Benni McCarthy, has announced his retirement. Bafana Bafana’s top goal scorer of all-time, with 31 goals in 80 games, has left a lasting impressing on every club with which he’s played, finishing off his career by returning to Mzansi to play for, and win the treble with, Orlando Pirates. McCarthy’s list of achievements for club and country remain unparalleled, and his exploits in the 2003/04 Champions League, making him the only South African to win the tournament, will be remembered forever.
