Best April Fools joke ever played on me was by my youngest son Brandon and an ornery Asst Chief James (Jim) Miller of Locust Grove Police Dept. My place of employment! Some kids had been breaking into the bus barn at night and setting off all the fire extinguishers in the buses but the police hadnt caught anyone, so my wonderful child and old ornery Jim decides to wait until the wee hours of the night when I am fast asleep to call me. Jim says Becky I need you to come over to the PD Brandon is in some trouble. He would say what kind of trouble, but I was thinking while I reluctantly put on my clothes you aint kidding he is in trouble, just wait until I get him home. Well we lived right across the street from the PD so I hope into my old truck and go tearing acdoss the street. When I walk into the PD Jim is waiting on me with this long and troubled face. I ask shere is Brandon and he told me he was in the officers room filling out his statdment. I looked in there long enough to give him that mothers stare of what was to come. I ask Jim okay tdll me what he has done and old Jim with thst long serious face said well you knoe the buses that have been getting broke into. It has been Brandon doing this. I was seeing red and green cause I figured I was going to have to pay the damages. I was ready to take Brandon home and show him what trouble realky looked like when he walked oug of the officers room and said here do you want to resd my statement. Of course I jerked it out of his hand and when I opened it up it said April Fools. Now I cant say at that moment I was amused but I was relieved. I was still mad cause these two goof got me out of bed in the middle of the night to carry off this great plan of theirs. I have laughed every April Fools Day thinking of this prank. I swore I would get them back one day but I could never come up with something as clever as what they did. I just thought I would share this because it was such a good one on me. They truly got me good! Happy April Fools to you both.
