*Best Comedy of the Season* Alright, Amagi Brilliant Park is completed, I am giving this one a special title as Best Comedy of the Season for many reasons, lets begin. The plot, we follow Seiya Kanie who is a good-looking, perfectionist with a slightly inflated ego, but at the very start he is at gun point by an attractive but mysterious girl named Isuzu Sento. What does she want you may ask? She asks him to go on a date... and although reluctantly, Kanie complies. On the day of their date, they head to the mystical and magical Amagi Brilliant Park, it is an amusement park for families. But after wandering through the gate Kanie learns that it is nothing more than a run-down mess at this point. Kanie explodes because he finds the place insulting but then some truths are learned. The park acts as a refugee location for resident of a real magical place called Maple Land and that these residents are in danger because in three months time, they will lose their home if they can not reach 500,000 visitors. Kanie is invited to be the new manager for the park but will he accept the position and return the park to its former glory? Enough plot, there is actually a lot more to this story but I will let you figure those out on your own. I cant think of a single episode where I was not laughing, the characters are great, the humor is top-notch, and learning new things about the park is always fun. For example, Moffle is the mouse character with the hat but he looks rather familiar... Full Metal Panic! has a similar character named Bonta-kun... coincidence? Its not exactly known but I like the concept that they are linked. Now, I love this series immensely, of course, DeviantArt seems to as well but I suggest you stay away from those works if you plan on retaining even a small amount of innocence. This is something I could recommend for teens and above, because there are sections and humor that even small children should probably not be made aware of, plus amusement parks are supposed to be magical so no spoilers... shhhhh. I do have some issues but I feel that the effort made on the animation, music, and the humor makes up for it 10x over. Until the next one.
