Best Halloween childhood memory GO! For me, it was the Halloween Carnival in the Old Gym My favorite was the fishing game where you threw the line with the clothes pin over the wall and hoped for something good like the woven Chinese handcuffs or the trick gum package that had a mousetrap like device in it when you pulled the last piece out. Then you would head upstairs to the high school part of our K-12 school and redeem tickets for a bracelet and nervously ask the high schoolers manning the table to engrave your name on it. Youd also stop at the guess how many candies are in this jar in you would win something nifty. Youd walk down the hall a bit further and do the Cake Walk. All the desks had been shoved to one side of the classroom and a path made with masking tape had been laid down. Thered be numbers in the squares and youd walk around the path until the music stop and hope they would call your number do youd win a cake off your choice. The ones Sue Rye would make went the quickest. Then the raffle. Odds and ends. Someone win a tv and the big prize was $500 off a used car at Hills Used Cars. Yep. Id look forward to that every year.
