Best Mothers day Present ever! After seven months off hard work, anguish and at times, despair, Robbie my rescue Border Collie from Bergerac, has made it through. This morning for a full hour he lay across my lap perfectly contented, happy and relaxed and let me stroke and cuddle him in total peace. The others came and tried to tempt him away with toys and nudges but he didnt stir. For a minute I thought he was actually ill, until I looked in his eyes and saw something amazing. For the first time, I saw and felt total trust and absolute love and devotion. It was the most moving moment and I knew that this was a gift beyond price. For anyone who is hesitating in taking on a rescue dog or is just starting, I can assure you its so worth every minute invested in these dogs. This lovely boy will be at my side to the end now. At the moment there is no better feeling in the world.
