Best Picture American Sniper Birdman Boyhood The Grand - TopicsExpress

Best Picture American Sniper Birdman Boyhood The Grand Budapest Hotel The Imitation Game Selma The Theory of Everything Whiplash Only 8 nominations this year, for Best Picture. I was surprised by the appearance of two particular films, American Sniper and Whiplash. I still have yet to see those two films before Oscar night. I am definitely betting on Boyhood. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lead Actor Steve Carell, Foxcatcher Bradley Cooper, American Sniper Benedict Cumberbatch, The Imitation Game Michael Keaton, Birdman Eddie Redmayne, The Theory of Everything American Sniper is again a surprise. Someone did tell me they were excited for Coopers performance, I didnt actually think hes be nominated. This is his third nomination, but his first without the help of David O. Russell. I personally would vote for Michael Keaton. With Benedict Cumberbatch at 2nd place and Steve Carell at 3rd. I am afraid to say that Eddie Redmayne has a chance at a win, but I personally believe he is undeserving. Surprised that Ralph Fiennes is not on this list. Other snubs - Jake Gyllenhaal, Ellar Coltrane, and Bill Hader. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lead Actress Marion Cotillard, Two Days One Night Felicity Jones, The Theory of Everything Julianne Moore, Still Alice Rosamund Pike, Gone Girl Reese Witherspoon, Wild Again, only one surprise, this being Marion Cotillard. I guess I need to check out that film as well. I still havent seen Still Alice, it hasnt been released around me yet. The other three are all deserving to be on this list. I personally would vote for Reese Witherspoon. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Supporting Actor Robert Duvall, The Judge Ethan Hawke, Boyhood Edward Norton, Birdman Mark Ruffalo, Foxcatcher J.K. Simmons, Whiplash All the basic five that have been floating around this award season. I myself would vote for Edward Norton but I am guessing that J.K. Simmons will win based on the Golden Globes. I still have to see Whiplash and I guess Ill try to see the Judge. Snub - James Corden ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Supporting Actress Patricia Arquette, Boyhood Laura Dern, Wild Keira Knightley, The Imitation Game Emma Stone, Birdman Meryl Streep, Into the Woods I am so excited by Laura Derns nomination. I was hoping to dear God for her to revive a nomination, She deserves it. And just one year after her father was nominated for lead actor for Nebraska (Bruce Dern) I am betting on Patricia Arquette all the way. She will win! Kiera Knightly is the least worthy. Emma Stone was fantastic and deserves to be on this list! This is Meryl Streeps 19th nomination. Shell never be too far from the Academys eyes. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Snubs - Life Itself (Documentary) The Lego Movie (Animated Feature) #AcademyAwards #Oscars #Oscars2015
