Best of luck to U2 on their new album. I was surprised by the mix on the first single, The Miracle of Joey Ramone. Since their are modern producers on this record, this is a todays radio-friendly mix. The Vocal is super out front, totally compressed and thinned out, as if it could be a 17 year old boy band singer singing the track. The vocal also sounds pitched corrected to me. The guitars are pulled way back, except every once in a while where a few chords just lung out (as if to say, Hey, were still a rock band!). The drums sound paper thin and are also pulled way back. Still, at least it pays tribute to my friend and fellow performer Joey Ramone!
