Bethie had to write a short story for school and it was so awesome, I just had to share it with you all... The Mad Hatter and the Three Horrible Events The Queen of Hearts, or as I like to call her, The Queen of Blood, was turning this world into a dark and hateful place. Then it all changed. We all saw Alice fall down that hole, but we dont know what happened to her. Since then, three horrible events have taken place. Let me tell you my story first. I loved to create hats when I was little. My mother, Rose, always called me her little mad hatter. That is how I got the name, of course. I almost always wore a top hat and waist coat. One day, the Queen of Blood walked into my room in her normal attire, a poufy dress with hearts all over it. She declared that she didnt like her crown any longer. She asked me to create her a new one. I made her many, so that she may have a wide variety of choices. There were heart shaped crowns, in all shapes and sizes. She tried them all on and hated every last single one of them. She screamed, Off with his head! Just then, my mother ran in, seized me and sped out of the kingdom without ever looking back. We were running through the forest when we got to a massive patch of roses. The roses were taller than us and so were the trees around us. Mother started walking through them, but I stayed behind. I kept looking at this red stuff oozing from the jumbo thorns. After a few moments of staring, I realized that it was blood. Out of nowhere there was a huge thump. It made the ground shake and the trees rustle. That’s when the screaming started. I had to cover my ears, because I was afraid they would burst. The screams sounded like a wailing banshee. Then the screams died out. There was no noise around me. It seemed as if the world had frozen. Mom!!, I screamed with tears streaming down my face. By then, it was too late. This was the first horrible event that happened, when Alice fell down that hole. The next event happened to a great friend of mine, the Cheshire cat. This was the day he stopped smiling. The Cheshire cat realized that since Alice fell down the hole, he must die. He goes straight to the Blood Queen, so that he can die and be done with it. He tells her that he hates her with all his heart. At this point, the Queens face turned pink, orange and then settled on a boiling hot red. She wails in a crackly, dry voice, Off with his head!” Off his head went. The final event happened to the Blood Queen. The Queen knew that the prophecy must be fulfilled. She sets up an army so that Alice can never get through. Little does she know, Alice is already inside the Kingdom, for she is no taller than a mouse. Then the spell begins to wear off, just as Alice gets to the Blood Queens room. Alice hides behind the door, with a Diamond Sword. As soon as the Queen strides into the room, Alice swings the sword, and off went the Queens head. Now that the prophecy had been fulfilled, Alice disappeared. The ex-queens body is thrown into the Blood River. A perfect place for her I think. What of the Cheshire cat? No one knows, his body was ever found. I, of course, am living happily at a little house drinking tea that I believe only makes me madder, for I am the Mad Hatter, waiting for Alice to return to have my revenge. She was, after all, the reason my mother perished.
