Betty asked me to post this story that I told her in conversation this morning...Last night I had attended the Wednesday night service at church and our Pastor had asked the question (its very informal on Wednesday nights) What is the church. A guy by the name of Steven raised his hand in the back and then said,Im not a Christian, but to me, the church represents the love and strength of God (very good answer by the way). So later, he (Steven) pulled my friend Rudy aside and was speaking to him (Rudy is heading to Mexico tomorrow on a mission trip) and then he went to talk to Pastor. I was out in the lobby when Rudy came out and asked a couple of the Elders if we still had any Bibles laying around. One of the Elders said that we might have some in the lost and found room and Rudy said that there werent any back there because he and another had looked the other day. I then asked,Why are you looking for another Bible? And Rudy told me that Steven didnt have one and be was wanting a Bible to read. So...I unzipped my Bible cover jacket, took out all my personal notes and pictures that my children had drawn for me, bookmarks, etc. and handed my Bible to Rudy to give to Steven. Rudy asked me, Youre giving him your Bible? And a couple of the men standing around said the same thing...to that, I just said ,Sure, I have a few more at the house, and Ive given my Bibles away before. As I told this story to Betty, she asked me to please post it so...There you are my dear! 💜
