Between 1977 and 1983 I worked for the St John Ambulance & Rescue Service that is a professional Guernsey-based charitable organisation that is part of the Bailiwick of Guernsey’s St John. The service operates 24 hours a day providing the Island’s emergency ambulance and rescue service. My duties were all aspects of ambulance and rescue that included ambulance driving, ambulance attendant, 999 telephone and ambulance control operator, cliff rescue, marine ambulance, operator of the diver’s decompression unit, and a radio and electronic maintenance technician. I recently found these photos that were take in 1983 when I was 29, which was a month before I left the service to follow a new career programming computers for the finance industry. ambulance.org.gg/
