Beware of false teachrs, preachers, and those claiming to be appointed by God as leaders. The recent decision by the grand jury in Ferguson , Missouri to bring a no true bill in the case against officer Darren Wilson brings a thought to mind. As Christians, we are to rise up against injustice in our society for all people. Leaders in government and ministry should be voices who speak guidance and wisdom to the populace to bring change and healing. We are to be on the forefront of discerning truth, standing for truth and speaking the truth to lead others in the way of truth. Evaluating some of the people claiming to be voices of leadership through the tragedy in Ferguson , there has been a huge breach of trust and confidence by some leaders. These leaders refused to discern the truth, have embraced false information and have spoken the misinformation to the populace as truth worthy of their faith and action. The false information told and retold over and again stirred emotions and fueled anger, division, and distrust among neighbors, friends, and fellow citizens. Wrong assumptions driven by media and social media soon created a powerful force that sent shock waves of perceived injustice across the country and world. The wrong assumptions and false information had been pushed to the public as truth so extensively that when the factual truth was revealed...many refuse to believe it. Even many with a voice of leadership staunchly refuse to adhere to the very thing they are supposed to promote...the truth. And refuse to humbly recant on previous statements of false information. Even worse, is that in light of the truth, there are leaders who continue to promote anger, division, suspicion, and distrust among the populace. God, please give us peace and discernment for truth and restoration. Leaders bring people together. Ministers work to bring unity and healing not division among Gods creation. Careful... Not everyone who calls themselves reverend is about Gods business. Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheeps clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit . every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut done and thrown into the fire. So then, you will know them by their fruits ( Matthew 7:15-20 NASB).
