Bhaderwah (Doda), July 1 Bhaderwah are facing shortage of ration as the government-run depots have gone empty over past two months. After the earthquake in Doda on May 1 this year, the state government had announced free ration for the affected families for three months. Not only the opposition parties even the Congress, which is part of the ruling coalition, has minced no words in attacking the state government for its failure to streamline the supply of ration in this belt. Panthers Party District President Neeraj Manhas said. that While the rulers were living a luxurious life, the common man has to wage a struggle for every day survival as basic amenities of life have been denied to the people, and added that in Bhaderwah constituency there is zero development on the ground and present re-representatives have only given road connectivity to those areas of Bhaderwah constituency where there workers and kith and kin are residing and others common people have to walk on foots . He said there is Jungle Raj in whole constituency as land of the poor people are acquired for the construction of government infrastructure without adopting the legal procedure and poor land owners are denied their right of construction on the same land .Criticising the government for "acute shortage" of electricity in rural areas of Bhadarwah rations and kerosene oil he said. He said that Peoples are on the verge of starvation due to the non-availability of ration at govt. depots said National panthers Party District President Neeraj Manhas said. Manhas said that The state government had promised to provide ration free of cost for three months to the earthquake affected families. What to say of free ration, even people are not getting regular ration supply in Bhaderwah from the last two months.” NPP District president Neeraj Manhas said that people have lost hope of getting relief and free ration because this government has never kept its promises. “Instead of fooling people in the name of relief, the government should at least ensure availability of ration in the govt sale depots,” he said. He said that a huge chunk of the ration meant for the poor has been sold in the market because those at the helm of the affairs enjoy the patronage of the coalition leaders so there are little chances of improvement of the situation,” he alleged. He said all government offices are being shifted to outside the Bhaderwah twon due to which underemployment has been increasing day by day the public representatives are busy in only in lip work , Manhas said. Pointing towards non availability of health facilities in the Bhaderwah , he said that health facilities were almost nil and people have to travel Jammu or Srinagar to get treatment. “Funds sanctioned for the development of Scheduled Tribe (ST) downtrodden people , MGNERGA , RGGVY, and other state and central sponsored schemes are not utilised properly so that people could benefit”, he said.
