Bible Reading and Prayer Guide Poetry/Wisdom (3 minutes) Psalm 146 Worship (5 minutes) We Fall Down youtube/watch?v=A9jhLNDfAKQ Confess (3 minutes) Spend time confessing specific known sins and ask God to reveal sins you might not be aware of. Pray for Church and Lives (3 minutes) Pride has no place in the Christian life (unless you are proud of Jesus). God’s desire is that we might reflect the humility of a child being dependent upon God to supply our needs. Pray that humility would be a defining characteristic of FHBC. Pray that FHBC would always be open and welcoming to those who are both humble in heart and humble in life. Pray that we would take our sin seriously and be careful not to lead others into sin. Pray this week for people FHBC sees everyday who are not followers of Jesus (not encased in His Grace). It’s one thing to be lost; it’s even worse to be lost and no one is looking for you. Pray that each of us would be intentional in seeking out those who do not personally know and trust Jesus that we would pray for them and that we would love them enough to share the gospel with them. Scripture Memory (2 minutes) – Proverbs 3:34, “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” Daily Reading and Prayer Focus Monday Bible Reading: Matthew 18:1 Today’s Question: Have you ever seen an argument among God’s people? What was it about? How was pride apart of that argument? What importance do selfish arguments have within the scope of eternity? Local Church: Relevant Life(15 min) – pray for Pastor Rick Valarezo and the family of faith at Relevant Life as they continue to get settled in their new facility on Hwy. 90 and use it as an outpost for much ministry. Country: Hungary - The openness of the post-Communist 1990s has passed. It is now increasingly difficult to openly witness – restrictions forbid teachers, doctors and such from sharing their faith in the workplace. The Church failed to respond adequately to the window of opportunity that is now largely closed. Christianity, while present and active, does not quite have the impact it should on society, politics, ethics, education and the economy. Pray for a new revival in the Church – following on those from 1939 and 1946-50 – that gives birth to a new spirit of witness and activism. (youtube/watch?v=gCctfk5wRmQ)
