Bible Study “When Christians are afraid about what lies ahead,” says Dr. Richard Bewes, “the great panacea is to read the Scriptures. Read the Scriptures day by day. It’s when you lose your anchorage in the Scriptures that you lose your hold upon life itself and upon the future.” With God, there is no need to fear. You can live each day on His sure foundation, certain about your life’s direction and your future. This assurance is found in the Bible. Listen to the benefits of reading the Scriptures: “The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes. The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of the LORD are sure and altogether righteous. They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb.” (Psalm 19:7-10) God’s promises are for you. Your life can be transformed through Christ Jesus and through His Word. Seek His truth in the Holy Scriptures, and start living a new and abundant life right now. Let His Word be your anchor. Lord God, forgive me for not faithfully reading the Bible. Help me to make a commitment and to stick with it. Amen.
