Bible This Friday Revised Standard Version and New International Version of Bible said the Books of Deuteronomy and that of Joshua are authored by Moses and Joshua respectively. Is this statement REALLY correct?! Lets see Deuteronomy 34:5-8 and Joshua 24:29-33 Deuteronomy 34:5-8 says 5So Moses, the servant of the Lord, died there in the land of Moab, just as the Lord had said. 6The Lord buried him in a valley near Beth-peor in Moab, but to this day no one knows the exact place. 7Moses was 120 years old when he died, yet his eyesight was clear, and he was as strong as ever. 8The people of Israel mourned for Moses on the plains of Moab for thirty days, until the customary period of mourning was over. Joshua 24:29-33 says 29After this, Joshua son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died at the age of 110. 30They burried him in the land he had been allocated, at Timnath-serah in the hill country of Ephraim, north of Mount Gaash. . . Moses authored the first five books of Old testament namely; Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy while Joshua authored just the sixth book of Old Testament which is The Book of Joshua. Is it possible for the two respected servants of God to write about their obituaries respectively when they were alive?! The above passages cast doubts as to who the real authors of the two books were. Have a blessed Friday
